Our Team
Here are a few friendly faces you will usually see at St Luke’s:
-
Patrick is married to Louise, and they have three children, one cat, two fish, and a hamster that only has three legs! Patrick loves being part of the community that surrounds St Luke's. He is passionate about the role of the local parish church in being the spiritual heart of the local area where the worshipping community rooted in Jesus bears witness to life flourishing under God's love.
-
Alice joined St Lukes in April 2024, having previously worked as a Youth Minister in the Diocese of Lincoln. Alice is passionate about discipleship in the church, and loves Sunday ONE (St Lukes all age service). In her spare time, Alice is studying for a Masters in theology, loves to swim, and likes to read… pretty much anything! She also supports West Ham FC.

Marion retired from paid work in 2021 and almost immediately had the opportunity to go on the diocese's training course for Pastoral Assistants which lasted two terms. She coordinates efforts to keep in touch with those who can no longer get to church or are ill or in other kinds of need (and their families too). Marion is married to Pete and has been attending St Lukes since 1995. She enjoys travelling, especially in her red MGF, and sings in a Gospel choir.
-
Ben joined St Luke’s in April 2021. He has lived with his wife Ruth and family in Cheltenham for over twenty years, and is a freelance writer and editor.
-
Linda has been a member of St Lukes Church for about 12 years. Linda has been a volunteer helper with our childrens’ groups for many years and is also a Street Pastor. Linda works full time but in her spare time she loves walking her dogs and going to gym.

Pete has now retired after a 30 year career in the legal profession and more latterly as a museum assistant. He was licensed as a Reader in 2000 having joined St. Lukes in 1995. A native of Birmingham, Pete also is a devotee of F1, the Red Dwarf TV series, Birmingham City FC and classic cars. He mistakenly believes that Marion's red MGF is his.
-
Ernie is a retired Baptist minister who has spent much of his ministerial life pastoring ecumenical churches (ie: a church with two or more different denominations worshipping together as one) around the country. He joined St Luke’s in 2017 and has the privilege of being considered part of the ministry team at St Luke’s.
-
Andy joined St Lukes’s with his wife Barbara in August 2022. Before then he had served for three years as a team member in the Coln River Benefice of 9 churches in the Cotswolds and previously to that, as Associate Minister to Cheltenham Minster (St Mary’s) in the town centre. Andy is currently supporting the St Luke’s ministry team, and also the Diocese Safeguarding Training Department, helping to deliver training when required. He enjoys walking (recently completing the length of Hadrian’s Wall), reading and the freedom of being retired which allows him to choose what he wants to do.
-
John joined St Luke's in 2022, having previously led another church in Cheltenham. John is ordained and helps on the St. Luke's clergy team. John is the Executive Director of Open the Bible UK. John is married to Cassie, and they have three teenage boys. John likes getting out into nature, often with the family dog, Snowy.

Catherine who is a lifelong Christian, joined St Luke’s in 2007 and became the Parish Safeguarding Officer in 2021, having also previously served on the PCC. She has enjoyed the friendliness of the St Luke’s family from the moment she joined. She sees her role as PSO as one of the most important for us at St Luke's, ensuring that we take all the necessary steps for everyone, but especially the young and the vulnerable to be assured of a safe and protective environment among us. As interests outside of church her passions are classical music and choral singing.
